Tooth straightening

We'll go down this route with you in a very uncomplicated way!

Misaligned teeth can be corrected gently and almost invisibly using transparent aligners such as Invisalign. Dr. Peter Getz and the dentists on the Nordufer will accompany you with experience, precision and an individual plan – for a result that not only looks good, but also feels good. As an adult, you have the advantage that your jaws are already fully developed. This means we can specifically address your individual needs and plan tailor-made treatment.

Straight teeth are no longer just a question of aesthetics.

They make oral hygiene easier, prevent tooth decay and gum problems, and ensure that you have a harmonious mandibular joint.

In short: They're good for you! Because teeth straightening is more than just aesthetics – it is the second step in our “three stages for your optimal dental health & aesthetics. Let’s take this step together.

Why use “invisible” aligners at ZANH?

  • Discreet & flexible – So discreet that only you know about it – and removable whenever necessary – ideal for your everyday work.
  • Straight teeth = healthy teeth – fewer cavities, fewer gum problems, fewer functional problems – better quality of life.
  • Comfortable & effective – No brackets or wires, individually tailored to you.
Long-term attractiveness – your smile will stay perfect with retainers and regular check-ups.

After-treatment is before treatment:

After the active treatment phase, we safeguard the long-term stability of your results as part of our overall concept. This includes the use of maintenance splints and/or fixed nickel-titanium retainers, plus regular follow-up care with PZR recall and twice-yearly check-ups. If required we can also provide bleaching to perfect the aesthetic result.

Teeth straightening at ZANH – modern, precise and in line with the times!

Using innovative digital technology, we provide you with tailor-made treatment that integrates almost invisibly into your everyday life.

  • At ZANH, we offer individually tailored tooth straightening treatments which do not only have aesthetic benefits, but also functional and health-promoting advantages. Medical indications such as crowded teeth, deep bite, forced bite positions, CMD complaints or an open bite require targeted corrections for improving dental health and functionality. These treatments are particularly important for patients who place great value on oral health, prevention and optimal functionality, and also have high aesthetic demands of their smile.

  • Before implementing prosthetic measures such as implants, crowns, bridges or veneers, tooth straightening is often required to create the necessary amount of room for providing optimal treatment. The prosthetic options are often restricted without this pretreatment. Pre-prosthetic tooth straightening makes it possible to create the necessary amount of room for implants and other prosthetic solutions, resulting in a better fit and results with more long-term stability. For planning purposes we use modern digital planning methods such as the iTero intraoral scanner and integrated treatment simulation – Smile Architect, for individual and precise pre-prosthetic planning and simulation design. We develop tailor-made solutions that are perfectly tailored to your needs in close collaboration with our dental technicians.

  • At ZANH, we carry out purely aesthetic corrections gently and almost invisibly. Our aesthetic treatments are aimed at adults of all ages – from young adults to the elderly. Because we want to give you the opportunity to smarten up your smile whenever you wish. When the decision between functional and aesthetic tooth straightening is being made, we support you with comprehensive orthodontic diagnostics. These include intraoral scans, occlusograms, CMD diagnostics, profile analyses, X-ray analyses and model analyses, as well as a comprehensible simulation of the treatment. It is particularly important to us that you clearly understand the treatment process and the optimal solution for your individual needs. So we can get started together!

  • The position of the teeth plays an important role in the development of CMD (craniomandibular dysfunction). Tooth or jaw misalignment is often the cause of these complaints, which is accompanied by pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and the chewing muscles. At ZANH, we use various diagnostic procedures for functional analysis to carry out a precise and comprehensive examination and identify the exact cause of your symptoms.

Following the CMD diagnosis, we take an interdisciplinary approach and collaborate closely with other disciplines – such as physiotherapists, osteopaths, maxillofacial surgeons and other specialists. We provide comprehensive support using our network. Regular follow-up checks and, if necessary, adjustments to the therapy ensure that treatment success is safeguarded in the long term. An essential constituent of the treatment is splint therapy, which relieves the pressure on the jaw, relaxes the muscles and achieves rapid pain relief.

FAQs

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a modern and almost invisible tooth straightening method that uses the latest 3D computer technology. A successive series of transparent splints is custom-made and worn in accordance with an individual treatment plan until the teeth are in the required position.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The splints are changed independently by the patient at home every one to two weeks. Dr. Peter Getz checks the treatment progress at regular intervals of every six to eight weeks. The total duration of the treatment depends on the nature and severity of the original malocclusion and is between 9 and a maximum of 18 months in the majority of cases.

How does the Invisalign system work?

The Invisalign treatment consists of several transparent dental splints, which are also known as aligners. These aligners are programmed step by step, and move the teeth into the required position. The range of movement and the point in time of the movement are precisely controlled. The 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck®) determines which teeth will be moved and when.

How much does Invisalign cost?

The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the complexity of the tooth displacement, and whether treatment is required in one jaw or in both the upper and lower jaws at the same time. Accordingly, the cost varies depending on the extent of the treatment that is required.

Are the costs of Invisalign covered by statutory or private health insurance?

Statutory health insurance companies do not cover Invisalign treatment. Invisalign treatment is usually covered by private health insurance companies and supplementary insurance companies if an appropriate insurance policy has been taken out, but this should always be clarified in detail beforehand.

What are attachments?

The attachments are small, tooth-coloured pieces of plastic that are fitted to the teeth. These small forms are attached to the teeth at the beginning of Invisalign treatment, and then removed without leaving any residue after the treatment. In a similar way to handles, they ensure that the splints have a good grip, and support the controlled tooth movements. Attachments are not always necessary, but are planned and used individually as needed.

How are Invisalign aligners cleaned?

For quick cleaning of the aligners from time to time, we recommend the use of lukewarm water and a toothbrush without toothpaste. Toothpaste can give the aligners a dull and opaque appearance. For more intensive cleaning, the treatment package includes Invisalign cleaning crystals, which are dissolved in water. The aligners can then be rinsed with lukewarm water. Hot water should not be used, in order to avoid deformation of the plastic of the aligner.
